Leslie McCabe ran the Novant Health Charlotte Marathon on November 12, 2016 in honor of “my amazing mother, Bobbie Lonergan, who passed away from Alzheimer’s in 2012. She was an inspiration to so many people throughout her life! She raised our family of 13 children with incredible energy and devotion. One of the many life’s lessons that my mother taught her children was to focus on the positive. Alzheimer’s is a horrible disease that stripped away so many of my mother’s abilities but she never lost her loving heart. She is with me every step of the way as I train for the marathon and every day beyond.”
