B. SMITH
Smith has a long and distinguished career as a supermodel, restaurateur, magazine publisher, celebrity chef, and nationally televised and well-known lifestyle maven. But, her hard work and accomplishments could not prepare her for her greatest challenge in life: in 2013, B. was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s disease.
In 2015, B. co-authored a book with her husband Dan Gasby titled Before I Forget; Dr. Rudy Tanzi, Chair of the Cure Alzheimer’s Fund Research Consortium, wrote the foreword. The book is beautiful and brave and allows readers to learn about the challenges of Alzheimer’s disease.
Since the launch of the book, B. and Dan have traveled the country sharing their story helping to increase awareness of the disease. They have been generous in providing readers of the book, as well as those who visit their website, with information about Cure Alzheimer’s Fund and our focus on funding breakthrough research. We are humbled by B. and grateful for her willingness to share her story.
