Fernanda Marques’ research is focused on the brain’s choroid plexus in health and disease. She investigates how this system of cells—that make cerebrospinal fluid in the brain—changes in Alzheimer’s disease, and how that may impact neuroinflammation, amyloid beta accumulation and cognitive impairment.
