Laura Santambrogio studies the mechanisms that regulate the central nervous system’s lymphatic system, which controls the level of fluids in the brain. By characterizing the proteins and molecules that regulate fluid and waste disposal in the brain, she hopes to uncover pathways to facilitate brain fluid clearance that would be beneficial in preventing cognitive dysfunction.

Dr. Santambrogio describes her study into what happens to the brain when lymphatic drainage is blocked during an interview that took place at the AD/PD™ 2022 International Conference on Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Diseases in Barcelona, Spain.
