Natura Myeku researches deficient protein degradation—the impairment of the normal cell waste disposal process—in Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and other disorders that accumulate toxic proteins as a common feature.
Dr. Myeku, in collaboration with fellow CureAlz researcher Dr. Karen Duff, aims to identify a better approach to combat early stages of AD, when toxic tau begins accumulating in synapses and spreading throughout the brain.
