Paola Pizzo’s lab investigates how extracellular ATP triggers a signaling pathway that leads to microglial dysfunction and neuroinflammation in Alzheimer’s disease. Her lab seeks to solve how these molecules can be targeted to modulate the disease process, and potentially slow or halt the progression of Alzheimer’s disease.
