“Applying the approach of a venture capitalist to a philanthropic organization was a new concept at the time we started Cure Alzheimer’s Fund. We call it the “venture approach to solving a difficult problem.” We back the best people, leading scientists from all over the world. We have a venture capitalist’s sense of urgency: we’re not willing to wait. We’re making tremendous progress that wouldn’t have been made without the fund.”
